Excited to be part of "Grey Gray (Matter) : a global and postal social experiment" August 7 - 23 curated by @jeffreycortlandjones at @divisible.projects @frontstreetartist in Dayton, Ohio⁠ featuring over 150 artist, from 10 countries⁠ ⁠ Opening reception is tomorrow Friday, August 7, 6 - 9 pm I'll be there in spirit!⁠ ⁠ Entrants were directed to paint in a grey monochrome on an existing postcard. Then mail it directly without using an envelope. ⁠ ⁠ I didn't have any blank postcards & due to being sheltered in place, I decided to use whatever I had. I found a box of postcards picturing an anodized aluminum (conceptual) bracelet I'd made as a senior at Miami University. This piece had been part of an exhibition of 'Ohio Designer Craftsmen 1988' in Columbus, OH (I was a painter/metalsmith double major) & the box of postcards was part of an award I'd won from that exhibit. ⁠ ⁠ Miami U is about an hour south from Dayton. All my Ohio connections made this the perfect postcard for my entry. Plus I miss metalsmithing sometimes so incorporating my young art days into a new painting & letting glimpses of it show through was conceptually satisfying.⁠
