I love the unpredictability of pulling tools through wet paint—colors merge & pool into unexpected linear combinations. Gravity explodes those lines into accidental, abstract, invented landscapes. New double-sided painting on paper. These are scaling up, so I’m moving out of my comfort zone & losing control here & there. Some paintings go over the edge, some are too `safe`, and some—like this piece—teeter on the edge. Today I`m digging the craziness in this painting, tomorrow I might not... I love letting the paint make its own path, but to an extent. In this series I`m also thinking about landscape, layers of time & geology.
